LGBTQIA+ · Affirming Care
Affirming, trauma-informed therapy for lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, queer, trans, nonbinary, intersex, asexual and aromantic folks, and anyone still figuring it out. You don't need the words yet to begin.
What's different here
You won't be asked to justify who you are. We focus on what you came here for.
From the very first session, and updated any time they change.
Questioning, unlabeled or still becoming. There's no deadline and no right answer.
Who this is for
What we can work on
Room to explore sexuality and gender with curiosity instead of pressure.
Deciding who gets to know, when and how, on your terms and your timeline.
Support through social, medical or legal transition, or none of the above.
Someone in your corner with medical providers, schools, workplaces and other systems, including letters of support for gender-affirming care.
Grieving the family that couldn't show up, and building the one that does.
Healing from religious messages about who you are, and reclaiming faith if you want it.
The toll of navigating hostile laws, workplaces, headlines and everyday rooms.
In any configuration, from dating apps to long-term partnerships to polycules.
Untangling the shame you were handed about your body, desire and pleasure.
How I work
Many LGBTQIA+ folks developed parts that scan for danger, edit what they share or brace for rejection. Those parts kept you safe. Internal Family Systems helps us understand them with respect. EMDR and Brainspotting help process the experiences that taught them to stay on guard.
I'm a Certified Shame-Informed Treatment Specialist and I'm completing sex therapy certification through an AASECT-approved program, so conversations about identity, bodies and desire are held with real training behind them.
At every intersection
Queer and Black. Trans and neurodivergent. Bi and poly. Being LGBTQIA+ shapes your life alongside your race, culture, neurotype and relationships, so your care holds them together.
Ways to work together
No. You can come in knowing exactly who you are, still exploring, or somewhere in between.
That happens more often than it should. We can talk about what went wrong, and you can tell me what you need to feel safer this time.
Yes. Relationship therapy is open to any configuration, as long as each person is located in one of my six states during the session.
