Sexual Health · Affirming Care
Affirming support for the questions, concerns and changes that come with your sexual life, or the lack of one, in any body, identity or relationship. Nothing you bring is too awkward for this room.
What it can look like
When partners want different amounts or kinds of intimacy, and both needs deserve respect.
Changes in arousal, response or orgasm, explored with curiosity instead of pressure.
Emotional support alongside your medical care when sex hurts or feels physically difficult.
Rebuilding safety, choice and presence in your body, at a pace that belongs to you.
Menopause, aging, illness, medication and parenthood can all reshape your sexual life.
Finding words for what you want, what you don't and what you're curious about.
How we work on it
I'm completing sex therapy certification through the Sexual Health Alliance, an AASECT-approved program, and I'm a Certified Shame-Informed Treatment Specialist. So much of what gets in the way of a satisfying sexual life is shame, so we name it gently and work with it directly, along with body image and the messages you absorbed about pleasure.
Depending on what you need, that can include education, communication work, somatic approaches, Internal Family Systems for the parts holding fear or shame, and EMDR or Brainspotting when trauma is part of the picture. When something physical may be involved, I'll encourage you to see a medical provider too, so your care covers the whole picture.
At every intersection
Religion, culture, family, race, gender and sexuality all shaped the messages you received about bodies and desire. Black women, queer and trans folks, kink and ENM communities and asexual people are often handed especially narrow scripts. Here, we look at those messages together and you decide which ones are worth keeping.
No. You set the pace and the level of detail. We can start with whatever feels manageable and go from there.
Yes. Asexuality is an orientation, not a symptom. You're welcome here for identity, relationships or anything else you want to bring.
Yes. I accept Arizona insurance through Headway and Alma, CHAMPVA in all six states, and reduced-fee care through Open Path Collective.
